The commitment to development and the enhancement of sustainable actions, constantly tuned on and respectful of environmental needs, has always been one of major Fondazione Lombardia per l'Ambiente’s aims: on July 6, 2006 FLA has officially entered the voluntary EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (Regs. CE no.761/2001 and CE no. 196/2006) thanks to its “Environmental Quality” integrated management system.
The EMAS registration, which is periodically validated, is one of the most prestigious and select opportunities to improve environmental management performance within companies operating industrial activities or any organization which has an impact on the environment. FLA’s EMAS registration is part of the Environmental management system standards auditing in conformity with UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 certifiable standard requirements (lately updated by UNI EN ISO 14001:2004); this system entered into force on July 11, 2003. Both registrations have gained FLA credit, and allow the Foundation to participate in European awards for registered organizations. Moreover, thanks to these registrations, the EU will acknowledge FLA better eligibility requirements for EU grant opportunities.
